These bulky dogs are wonderful family pets. Powerful, strong, sturdy and muscular, they are very charming and imposing at the same time. Males usually weigh from 170 to over 200 pounds and stand about 27 inches at the shoulders. Females weigh slightly less and measure about 25 inches at the shoulders.
